CRIME AND PUNISHMENT
It´s no secret that Colombia is a beautiful country, with one of the best ecosystems for its great variety of fauna and flora, friendly people and a lot of culture; but it´s also no secret that along with all this we are also afflicted by violence, for example, the city of Bogota is one of the most unsafe in the country for its high rate of homicides and other crimes such as thefts and assaults. Going out in the streets of our capital is already considered a risk, not for nothing 40.5% of thefts nationwide are committed in Bogota; and even more dangerous is that most of these are armed, putting the lives of the victims at risk. Given these high figures, the question arises: Are the penalties for this crime fair? Apparently not, these types of crimes have advantages such as house arrest for minor offenses, measures that the offender will logically not comply with and will continue their criminal activity once captured and returned to his home, and that's if they're ever pros...
